Second MacPherson Installation at Chicago's Goodman Theatre

SKOKIE, IL, June 11, 2001 --- MacPherson, Inc., manufacturers of high-performance professional loudspeaker systems, announced today that Chicago's Goodman Theatre has installed four more IS12 full-range loudspeakers in their new facility.

The new IS12s are installed in the 856-seat proscenium stage Albert Ivar Goodman Theatre, two in the lower mezzanine, two in the upper mezzanine. They will be used for rear-of-house sound effects and surround sound in conjunction with the existing system. 

Ten IS12s were installed in the smaller Owen Bruner Goodman Theatre last fall when the new facility opened. At that time, David Naunton, Goodman house audio engineer, said he "couldn't wait to put them to the test in January." The test must have gone well, because when Naunton decided to add backup rear-of-house loudspeakers in the larger Albert Theatre, he once again chose the IS12s. 

"The IS12s slim profile, coupled with their excellent voice reproduction, make them the ideal solution for wall-mounted surround," said Naunton. "They also work well with our existing equipment. And their portability is such that we plan to use them between the two theaters." 

The full-range IS12 loudspeaker utilizes a 12-inch woofer and a 1-inch compression driver for smooth, even coverage. Its unique, compact profile features an enclosure less than eight inches deep and narrow enough to fit between wall studs. Designed for ease of installation, the IS12 features multiple rigging points and connection flexibility.
